Villa Baula Hotel , Tamarindo Costa Rica
Guanacaste. At Hotel Villa Baula, we have taken care to preserve the natural beauty of our setting: the very end of the peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and the Tamarindo Estuary on the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica. Directly in front of the hotel is the beach, a magnificent 4 kilometers of golden sand. Playa Grande is the most important nesting site in the Pacific for the giant leatherback turtle, known in Costa Rica as the tortuga baula.
The National Marine Park, Las Baulas de Guanacaste was created in order to protect these nesting grounds. Behind the hotel flows the Tamarindo estuary which is fed by the ocean and bordered by mangroves. The Tamarindo Estuary is a Ramsar site, protected by an international treaty as a wetland of global importance.
Our hotel has only 20 rooms and 5 private bungalows spread over two acres of our forested beachfront property. We have tried to preserve the essential nature of our surroundings. The simplicity of our design and our choice of building materials (wood and bamboo) are in harmony with the environment. At Hotel Villa Baula, Nature takes center
